At an age when most individuals would be slowing down or even retiring, Rage Doyle is not. But then, Doyle has never been the retiring type.
Doyle’s professional life includes twenty-seven years as an agent with the Central Intelligence Agency and another twenty-plus years as an independent contractor doing various covert assignments for his former employer and others. Through these years, assignments for the CIA and others have included the National Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Department, and the Defense Intelligence Agency. Other assignments have included private companies and, on occasion, calls for quiet assignments from other governments.
Recently, Doyle has come into a very significant and unexpected inheritance. With no plans or wishes for a global cruise, he searches for a way to use the funds in a productive manner.
An idea leads him to consider forming a private company. With others joining him, Doyle expects they could continue the work that has been his life’s vocation. A young protégée of Doyle’s would be his first choice for a recruit. Others come to mind, but this is a start.
A phone call and, ultimately, a planning meeting in the Tennessee mountains is the beginning Doyle had hoped for.
A letter and another phone call offer Doyle’s new company its first challenge. A small assignment could become more than anyone could have imagined.
